Fireside stories with Wendy Robertson
One compensation for a cold March day is to be warm inside, especially if that includes sitting in front of a warm fire in a cosy room whilst the wind howls outside.
So it was, a few weeks ago, when I recorded extracts from Avril Joy’s latest book of short stories (more about that in a later blog) and Wendy Robertson’s latest novel Writing at the Maison Bleue in Wendy’s study in front of a crackling fire.
As always, Wendy’s books are extremely well researched, not just in factual or historical terms but also to give a great sense of place and wonderfully drawn characters which makes for a compelling story. I am sure you will enjoy the finished podcast with an introduction to 3 of the main characters to give a teaser for the rest of the story.
Wendy invites everyone to her book launch including wine and nibbles on Friday 1st May 7.30 – 9.30pm at The Teikyo University of Japan at Durham, Mill Lane, Durham DH1 3YB which can be found opposite The Oriental Museum.
